Shirley Xiuyin Xian is a fourth year undergraduate Biomedical Engineering student. Born and raised in Kenya, she is passionate in advocating for equality in access to resources from education to healthcare. Currently, she is a tutor at the Academic Assistance and Tutoring Centers and conducts undergraduate research on education within the Chemistry Department at UC Davis. Outside of school, she is a member of the 'leave-your-room' club and enjoys spending time taking walks, exploring cafes, playing badminton and reading books (outside!).
