Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP)

Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP)

Put theory into action, test your communication and group work skills, and develop a deeper understanding of your personal leadership!  SLDP provides an immersive experience through the integration of competency-building seminars and group project-based learning.

  • Earn academic units
  • Build peer and mentor connections
  • Boost your resume and professional portfolio with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Develop intrapersonal competence, communication skills, your ability to work with others, your understanding of social justice, and your ability to facilitate group achievement

Duration of SLDP is two-quarters (Winter and Spring), not including the prerequisite of six Leadership Essentials Workshops.  Program structure includes weekly topical seminars, weekly assignments, and a campus-focused group project.

The Student Leadership Development Program is new for the 2017-18 academic year; prior to that, CLL offered the "Student Leadership Development Series."  While there are significant differences between the two, SLDS groups also conducted Group Projects similar to the projects SLDP groups will develop; click the link to learn more about past SLDS Group Projects!

For 2017-18, there will be two cohorts available for registration: one meeting on Monday evenings and one meeting on Thursday evenings.  Open enrollment for both will be September 25 - November 17, 2017.

This page will be updated with additional information throughout Summer 2017 and, starting Sept. 25, will link to a pre-assessment form you can complete to begin the enrollment process.
