CLL is currently looking to expand its pool of potential Leadership Essentials Workshop Series (LEWS) facilitators.
What LEWS is
These 110-minute small-group workshops provide a foundational framework for leadership practices, and consist of six self-contained topical workshops so students can take as few or as many as they would like to best address their interests and goals. Workshops are free and generally scheduled in The Grove on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the late afternoon each Fall, Winter and Spring Quarter. Attendance can vary from just a few students to the room capacity of 30.
What facilitating entails
Each workshop has a fully-developed and standardized lesson plan for you to facilitate as designed. If scheduled for a workshop, you will be provided with the lesson plan, videos, and activities in advance and ask that you become fully familiar and comfortable with the content. CLL student interns will be on hand 30 minutes prior to the workshop to prepare materials and handouts, set up the room and A/V, and check in students as they arrive; an intern will also be present throughout your workshop to encourage participation, hand out materials, and support as needs arise.
How to become a LEWS Facilitator
- Email CLL Director Christie Navarro with a resume demonstrating your experience as a facilitator/educator, in working with students, and in the topics you are interested in facilitating.
- In your email, mention which of the LEWS workshops you are interested in facilitating and your general availability
- If selected, we will schedule you for one of our upcoming workshops; if added to our ongoing pool, we would then work with you to schedule workshops as needed by CLL and as fits your preferences; facilitators deliver anywhere from just one workshop once, to two per quarter
